Who We Are
As owner and operator of Island Cottage Services, Gary Ogle brings over 30 years of hotel resort maintenance and cottage security experience to the company.
He is a certified first-responder and is also an active member of PEISAR Team working with the RCMP to provide search and rescue services for missing persons.
Gary and his wife Karen have also operated an organic farm for over a decade, growing vegetables, fruit and grass-fed beef.
Having lived on the island for 21 years, Gary has experienced the damage that island storms can cause, and can assure you that your cottage will be secure while you are away.
What We Do
Your cottage on Prince Edward Island is not only your summer escape destination, but also a major investment which you should protect.
Island Cottage Services can give you 'peace of mind' in knowing that your cottage is secure and protected for the entire year.
Whether it is break and enters, theft, vandalism or damage from weather and animals, regular inspections will reduce the extent of damage and serve as a deterrent to potential problems. Your insurance company may in fact require that your cottage is checked periodically throughout your absence in order to meet their requirements.
With careful observation and attention to detail, we will assess any damage or potential problems and will notify you by email on a regular basis with a report of our findings.
You may already have an alarm system in place. In those cases, Island Cottage Services can be your local contact to respond when your system indicates a problem. We will also act on your behalf to notify the RCMP and meet with them to allow access with your authorization.
Island Cottage Services also provides property maintenance and handyman services, as well as organizing rentals, and arranging for opening and closing services, such as hooking up and draining plumbing systems.
